    Neenah is actively searching for a Mill Manager for our Performance Materials Mill in Quakertown, PA. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations for Performance Materials, the mill manager will provide leadership and management direction to operations at the Quakertown mill to ensure achievement of all mill objectives and to conform to established policies and procedures. As the functional leader, the incumbent will be fully responsible for applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience supervising/managing large teams and a proven track record of successfully running large operations. Rolled products manufacturing or converting experience is highly desirable.

    Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance

    • Exercise personal leadership to create an environment that puts a priority on maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for employees and conforms to applicable local, state, and federal codes and laws.
    • Ensure facility is in compliance with applicable environmental laws and requirements.
    • Sponsor and create a safety culture in manufacturing operations that is high in personal accountability and engagement at all levels.
    • Continuously improve year on year safety performance as measured by the OSHA recordable incident rate.
    • Maintain high level of housekeeping and cleanliness.
    • Develop and support consistent product quality standards and processes that meet or exceed customer expectations for value.

    Productivity / Cost

    • Manages and optimizes operating costs to achieve year over year Cost of Manufacturing (COM) reduction.
    • Support the development of a clear and comprehensive manufacturing strategy. Implement/lead those defined actions which will be inclusive of capital plans, mill roles, and real year over year cost improvements.
    • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that provide a comparative advantage while meeting our customers expectations.
    • Support enhancements of the Oracle system that will provide improved operations.

    Human Resources

    • Establish and maintain an optimum organization to ensure that the Quakertown mill is adequately staffed with qualified, trained and motivated people to meet current and future requirements.
    • Maintain a high standard of professional performance to serve as an example for judgment, concern for competitive position and consideration of people.
    • Be an active and positive influence in driving culture change. Reinforce an environment of high achievement and support.  Foster an environment conducive to experimentation by rewarding learning from both successful and failed experiments.
    • Honestly assess personnel. Develop succession plan for the site’s management team that ensure bench strength is enhanced.
    • Actively provide constructive feedback and manage performance of employees.


    • Bachelor’s degree strongly desired – Engineering, Management, other
    • 10-12 years of experience in a manufacturing/plant environment
    • A minimum of 7 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
    • Leading metrics development and continuous improvement experience required
    • Previous experience in manufacturing plant setting required
    • Strong leadership and communication skills required
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
    • Self-motivated individual with a take-charge attitude and an understanding of personnel management techniques
    • Understanding of activities and procedures required for efficient and quality work completion
    • Strong computer skills including, but not limited to a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
