  • Overview

    The Quality Control Lab Technician supports quality assurance activities for Neenah Filtration Appleton. The primary activities include customer product testing and ISO standards compliance for the facility. Other activities include laboratory instrument calibration and maintenance, raw material testing, updating specifications, customer technical support, and ISO standards compliance for the facility. The ideal candidate has the attitude, initiative, and excellent communication skills to support Neenah’s collaborative, high-achievement culture.


    • Meet all safety requirements and expectations; includes using proper PPE, safe handling of hazardous materials, and contributing to the LCMS (Loss Control Management System) as directed
    • Test Filtration production samples – base paper and saturated paper; includes testing of internal production samples, R&D and Operations trial samples, and submitted customer samples as needed
    • Enter test results in QiSoft system in a timely and accurate manner
    • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments as necessary
    • Test Filtration raw materials; includes testing of incoming raw materials and lab mixes as needed
    • Prepare data summaries of tested products, instrument comparisons, gage studies, etc.
    • Assist with the customer complaint resolution process
    • Capture necessary details to allow for a complete investigation of customer concerns.
    • Complete testing and data summaries of customer samples to determine root causes of issues
    • Assist activities related to ISO compliance and customer audits
    • Assist with both internal and external audits
    • Assist with internal and external preventative maintenance and calibration services for all quality lab equipment.
    • Update all related quality policies, manuals, and work instructions as needed.
    • Trend and analyze quality data when requested and/or necessary.
    • Update specifications, production logsheets, BOM’s, etc. as necessary
    • Contribute to cost savings efforts as appropriate




    • Bachelor’s degree in Science-related field, or equivalent work experience
    • Willingness to embody the Neenah culture of collaboration, challenge and support
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    • Proven ability to efficiently and accurately process a high volume of detailed workload
    • Excellent computer skills (including Excel and Word)
    • Previous quality management experience a distinct plus
    • Familiarity with Oracle ERP system a distinct plus
