    Neenah Performance Materials (www.neenahperformance.com) is growing and has an ideal opportunity for an energetic and focused individual to join our Munising Finance group as the Finance Manager in Munising, MI. The Manager will provide financial advice and counsel primarily to the operating team with support to the business team while directing financial resources to ensure accounting and control activities, as well as financial analysis and reporting, are completed in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with corporate policies. This is a hands-on role where the Manager will have three direct reports who oversee the day to day accounting, financial analysis and reporting. This position is based in Munising, MI.

    Responsibilities

    Provide Analysis and Guidance that contributes to achieving or exceeding Performance Materials (PM) business objectives.

    • Provide financial analysis and diagnostics that primarily support the objectives of mill operations.  Support analysis is also provided to the business unit periodically.
    • Support mill management with incentive programs, governmental reporting, and ad hoc requests from operations regarding quality, energy, labor, etc.
    • Analyze current practices to identify and recommend areas for improvement and process change. Develop processes, procedures and action plans to integrate suggestions into programs such as continuous improvement and cost savings program.
    • Provide accurate and timely cost estimates for new and updated market offerings.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to provide financial and operational information to business leadership. Information should clearly illustrate performance and provide leadership with the details necessary to understand and act. 

    Lead Monthly Closing of Performance Materials Munising

    • Meet the monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines for:
      • Reporting to business leadership, controller’s office and mill leadership.
      • Account Reconciliations.
      • Audit PBC’s and SOX PBC’s.
    • Maintenance of Costing Standards and inventory valuations, including proper reservations and compliance with GAAP.
    • Provide guidance on systems enhancements and tools that will increase the effectiveness of the PM finance function.

    Develop and enhance the skills of finance team for PM

    • Provide adequate and effective training and development opportunities.
    • Facilitate cross training, site visits and interactions for the PM team with other Neenah sites to develop better vision and cross pollination.
    • Career development and succession planning.

    Support PM Business Analyst, Mill Management & Controller’s Office

    • Provide guidance for monthly rolling and annual forecasting process.
    • Prepare analysis and offer counsel on capital projects.
    • Communicate plans to Business Leadership and incorporate the analysis into strategic and annual plans.
    • Provide input on the SEC submissions, quarterly letters and audit whitepaper’s.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field required.
    • Oracle or Large ERP System Experience is a Plus.
    • 8+ years’ experience in operations finance required. Manufacturing highly preferred.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills – with the ability to provide insights on pertinent facts.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work cross functionally and influence appropriately.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Able to think strategically and operate effectively with management.
