Overview

This position provides all traffic functions for Neenah Paper retail and commercial business through transactional and operational excellence to ensure delivery expectations are met or exceeded. This involves contact with customer service, warehouse operations, and carriers.  The Transportation Associate is responsible for coordinating inter-mill and outbound customer shipments (including but not limited to pools, truckload, LTLs, container, parcel; both domestic and international), daily application of freight costs incurred for customer invoicing, and assisting with rate quotes, shipment tracking, PODs, returns, and other traffic activities as required.  Focus on providing an efficient and effective process from order placement through delivery as well as building strong working relationships with customer service, carriers, warehouse operations, and others within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of professional and ethical standards in all business interactions.
  • Coordinate and process outbound shipments accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate Inter-Mill shipments.
  • Facilitate communication between Customer Service, Carriers and our Warehouses.
  • Communicate accurate requirements and provide all necessary documentation to ensure timely and efficient completion of orders through the warehouse.
  • Coordinate and communicate other various traffic department activities based on needs.
  • Search for and then communicate improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate problem resolution to meet customer demands and department objectives.

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s degree in logistics, business management, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in load planning or logistics related field.
  • A track record of proven performance / consistently meeting objectives.
  • Experience working in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to make logical decisions in critical situations.
  • Work safely, effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate personal credibility through strong communication skills, achieving results, and building trusted relationships with others.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and facilitate different perspectives to drive solutions.
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP system a distinct plus.
  • Excellent communication skill, both verbal and written.
