Neenah Paper currently has an outstanding opportunity for individuals interested in joining the Brattleboro, VT Engineering and Maintenance leadership team.

 

The incumbent will provide maintenance leadership, support, guidance, and services to the Brattleboro Mill Operations team. Responsibilities include providing safe, effective and efficient Engineering and Maintenance initiatives, while developing and delivering cost improvement programs that result in exemplary organizational performance. This position will be responsible for day to day supervision of the hourly maintenance trades crews as well as overall cost effective leadership of machine maintenance primarily at a single facility.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Drive toward achieving an injury-free workplace

  • Lead by example and participate in the development and implementation of all LCMS programs, activities and initiatives
  • Create a culture that promotes injury reporting, behavior observation, team work and accountability
  • Identify and implement the best safety practices between sites
  • Ensure that equipment maintenance, design, additions and modifications are done in a manner that satisfy applicable codes, standards and support our safety goals, DSR’s are performed on all new equipment and processes

 

Maintenance responsibility Appleton facilities

  • Maintain equipment reliability in a cost effective manner
  • Track, schedule, and supervise maintenance, installations and repairs
  • Utilize preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Analyze failures and develop root cause solutions
  • Identify and implement the best practices between FP&P sites
  • Plan and execute annual shutdowns
  • Provide technical assistance and training

 

Achieve short and long term manufacturing and converting cost advantage

  • Support waste per job goals which supports TPD, Yield and Uptime metrics
  • Implement process initiatives to optimize paper machine and converting performance
  • Implement capital projects that meet or exceed objectives related to safety, quality, reliability and cost
  • Provide technical assistance to maintenance and operations personnel
  • Support strategic cost control and energy reduction efforts

 

Develop and enhance the talent pool

  • Continue to maintain and develop the Mechanical groups technical skills
  • Continue cross training and develop dual craft training
  • Establish a work environment that encourages involvement, ownership, and personal satisfaction
  • Establish effective two way communication

 

Assist in maintaining our reputation for superior product quality and dependable service

  • Ensure that equipment maintenance and process related projects meet or exceed expectations
  • Provide timely support, service, and technical assistance to operations to ensure we meet our goals
  • Create a collaborative working relationship across all levels of the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred, though not required. Applicable relevant maintenance and engineering experience will be considered as well.
  • Successful candidates will have five (5) plus years of mechanical or electrical/instrumentation experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience and a proven track history of successful maintenance and project management implementation are also desired.
  • Paper Mill and manufacturing experience is a desired requirement.
  • Experience with formalized Preventative Maintenance plans is desired.
